The Lexus UX is the brand’s first compact SUV and as a hybrid vehicle we predict it’s going to be popular when it launches in April. Read on to find out more and if you’re interested in leasing this car click here to find out more about our special offer from under £285 per month.
It’s exterior design is stand out and with its longer proportions than many of its main rivals (think the Audi Q3, Jaguar E-Pace and BMW X1) it has a distinct hatchback / crossover feel and with a seating position lower than other SUVs, the UX feels more car-like to manoeuvre.Reviewers have said there is “a surprising agility to the car when twisty roads appear, improved further by Active Cornering Assist, which monitors the vehicle’s trajectory through curves and applies the appropriate braking on the inside wheels to suppress understeer.”
The UX features a new four-cylinder 176bhp 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrain with direct-shift continuously variable transmission (CVT)
Figures released by Lexus show economy estimates of 68.9-65.7mpg and emissions of 96-103g/km CO2 (for the 17- and 18-inch wheel front-wheel drive models).
The interior is really smart with excellent material quality. It has a logical uncluttered layout and overall the space available feels generous and welcoming.
We agree with Top Gear’s review that concludes, “the UX hybrid offers a unique solution and silhouette in a crowded segment.”
