Car Leasing Review - the Volvo XC60

In the market for a brand new car? With the fantastic range of vehicles on the market at the moment, you’re in an enviable position! Less enviable, however, is probably the amount of research you’re probably thinking you’re going to have to do before you make your decision…

At LittleGreenCarLeasing.com we’re here to help, so we’re providing you with our condensed review summaries of some of our Best Buys (those with amazing leasing rates), so that you can save that time and effort for something you’d rather be doing!

This time around, it’s the  XC60, the best selling mid-size SUV by Volvo.

Volvo XC60

AutoExpress

The XC60 is the best-selling Volvo ever and this new model is only likely to continue that trend. Like its big brother, the XC90, the smaller XC60 takes a more comfort-oriented approach than its rivals and that means it’s less dynamic than models like the Jaguar F-PaceBMW X3Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC.

It adds in a level of tech and quality that beats most of its rivals, though, while the space on offer inside is good, too. In fact, the XC60 will be a very easy car to live with day-to-day. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine range includes D4 and D5 diesels, plus a T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid that offers excellent straight-line performance and big company car tax savings.

TopGear

The Volvo XC60 sits right at the heart of the big-selling mid-size crossover crowd. It’s handsome and luxurious and it wraps you in a safety blanket as comprehensive as the Swedish welfare state.

It’s not distracted by off-road ambitions. Neither is it wearing the pretence of track-lapping athleticism. So it’s not hampered by the heavy and cumbersome hardware of the former, or the harsh inflexibility of the latter.

This middle-of-the-road approach of course lands it some stern rivals. The Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5 are both right there, and both implacably competent. But the Volvo feels very different inside. Its decor is as Skandi as a Stockholm boutique hotel bar.

WhatCar

Thankfully, Volvo hasn't forgotten about its roots because the latest XC60 has some of the most advanced safety features in the class.

Automatic emergency city braking is standard on all trims and not only recognises other cars, but also cyclists, pedestrians and large animals. The system can even help you swerve around obstacles and back onto the correct side of the road, although this feature only initiates if you start to make an evasive manoeuvre.

The Telegraph

The latest XC60 continues Volvo’s run of building cars that are practical and safe as well as extremely desirable. If you prefer a sporty drive a Jaguar F-Pace is a better car, while the Audi Q5 can ultimately be more comfortable, but for something that feels of very high quality and a little different from the norm, the XC60 comes highly recommended.

The Guardian

Buying a car is a big decision. But big decisions don’t have to take long. Within seconds of sitting in this car you’ll be smitten. It’s a glorious car and I can see no reason why it won’t carry on being Volvo’s bestseller.

Little Green Car Leasing summary

Critics are going mad for this top-selling mid-size crossover, with the comfort of the drive praised consistently across the publications and the safety (Volvo’s calling card) particularly commended. Interesting, also, is how keen on the car’s impressive technical features the critics are. It shows you just how much car you get for your money with this one and with our current car leasing deal starting at just over £280/month, what are you waiting for?
